Welcome to Virtual Schoolhouse!
We offer a variety of online classes to meet your child’s educational needs.
See our class schedule.
We follow a college-type schedule with ten and fifteen week semesters (four and six week summer sessions) with class meetings multiple times a week.
Your student simply logs into class with his name and password. There will be an audio, video, or written lecture, according to the teacher’s preference, and your student participates in class by responding live during class. He is able to see other students' responses to enhance his learning experience. The teacher will assign homework which will be turned in via email and will be returned through the same venue.
The staff of Virtual Schoolhouse includes homeschool moms, veteran homeschoolers, and other educators. Check out their bios for more info!
For we let our young men and women go out unarmed in a day when armor was never so necessary. By teaching them to read, we have left them at the mercy of the printed word. By the invention of the film and the radio, we have made certain that no aversion to reading shall secure them from the incessant battery of words, words, words. They do not know what words mean; they do not know how to ward them off or blunt their edge or fling them back; they are a prey to words in their emotions instead of being the masters of them in their intellects....We have lost the tools of learning, and in their absence can only make a botched piecemeal job of it.
